RTC services keep the campus connected and support student success
Neighbors and Partners
President Twyla Baker-Demaray, Ph.D.,
says, “NHSC and RTC are literally and
figuratively both neighbors and partners.
RTC provides access to communications
for the many people who come to our
campus looking for connectivity. RTC
also keeps us up on technology changes
and helps us prepare for them. The college
values the hometown service we receive
from RTC, and the rapid response we get
when problems or issues crop up.”
NHSC offers more than 30 majors in
areas including Education, Business,
Environmental Science, and Native Ameri-
can Studies. Around 200 students are now
pursuing Certificates, Associates Degrees,
and Bachelor’s degrees.
Communications technology is vital to
NHSC, and RTC currently provides inter-
net, TV, and phone services to the campus.
Fast and Reliable Internet is Key
“RTC offers blazing fast internet which is
critical for our students, staff, and faculty.
Much of our course content is delivered
electronically, as well as communications,
marketing, planning, admissions, and
business office work. Off-site administra-
tors are often able to simply beam in to a
classroom or meeting, or teleconference
with people at our Mentor Sites around
the lake. Much of our day-to-day work
is electronic in nature, and therefore, we
The Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College (NHSC) was founded May 2, 1973, as the agency responsible for higher
education on the Fort Berthold Reservation in New Town, North Dakota. Its mission is to “provide quality
cultural, academic, and vocational education and services for the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation.”
Since NHSC first opened its doors, RTC has been its communications provider.
