PANORA FIBER • PANORAFIBER.COM • 641 . 755 . 2424 IN PANORA • 641 . 332 . 2000 IN GUTHRIE CENTER Welcome to Two, Congrats to One Panora Fiber is pleased to welcome two new employees to our team: Colby Grove studied welding at DMACC and was previously a technician/ mechanic at Vetter Equipment. As Combination Technician, his job includes plowing or boring fiber underground and running fiber to customers’ houses. Raised in Guthrie Center, Colby lives on a farm with his girlfriend Mryia. They have two children with another on the way. Jared Hiner was a registered contractor doing fiber installs and a dual function technician at South Slope Cooperative Communications before joining Panora Fiber. His responsibilities as Combination Technician range from locating and splicing fiber-optic cable to general troubleshooting and installations. He and his wife Sam live in the Des Moines area. We also want to congratulate Pam Klinkefus, Customer Service Specialist, on her 30 years with Panora Fiber. She was hired for a job opening at Panora Telco, and has always liked the variety — no day is ever the same. Pam and her husband Steve live south of Panora on the farm that’s been in his family since 1869. We know how much residents in Dallas and Madison counties are looking forward to the incredible speed and reliability of fiber internet. That’s why Panora Fiber is doing everything we can to keep our fiber builds progressing in these areas. Here’s what you need to know: • URGENT! If you live in our fiber build areas, submit the Permission to Bury form at panorafiber.com/fiber-build by August 29 to get the fiber survey for your property on the schedule. That way, we know you’re interested, and the contractors won’t pass you by. • Construction crews are hard at work. KLK Construction is the contractor for our Dallas County build, and Central Cable is the contractor for our Madison County build. • All the rain we’ve had this season has slowed us down somewhat. It’s great for our yards, but not great for burying fiber cables. • Panora Fiber team members are keeping busy doing fiber surveys and going to doorto-door to visit with potential new customers about our company and fiber internet. While visiting with people in Dallas and Madison counties, a couple of questions kept coming up. We’d like to address them here: What does the “free installation” include? Are there any hidden fees? Our free standard installation includes bringing the fiber-optic line to your home and setting up the necessary equipment for your internet service to work. We believe in transparent pricing, so there are no hidden installation fees. We’ll clearly outline any potential charges for non-standard installations upfront. What are the benefits of no contracts and no data caps? Because Panora Fiber has no contracts, you have the flexibility to choose our service without being locked into a long-term agreement. You can change your service or cancel at any time without penalty. And unlike some internet service providers, we have no data caps. You can use the internet as much as you need without worrying about exceeding a data limit and incurring extra charges or having your speeds throttled. For more details about our fiber builds, visit panorafiber.com/fiberbuild. You’re also welcome to call us at 641.755.2424 in Panora. Fiber Build Activities Continue in Dallas and Madison Counties

If you’re planning to build or remodel a future-ready home in the Lake Panorama area, this is your chance to get the internet technology right. Contact Panora Fiber for expert guidance on how to best meet your communications needs: • Strategically plan. Arrange a fiber survey to determine the optimal cable routes. • Optimize wiring. Benefit from pre-wiring walk-throughs and best practice advice. • Design for connectivity. Decide on ideal interior and exterior wired internet locations. Call 641.755.2424 in Panora or 641.332.2000 in Guthrie Center. IS FIBER INTERNET IN YOUR PLANS? Here’s a Mini Lesson on Fiber-Optic Cables Fiber-optic cables improve the speed and reliability of internet service. But how do they work? Imagine a flexible plastic pipe that’s several miles long with its insides coated with a perfect mirror. You’re looking into one end of the pipe, and several miles away at the other end, a friend turns on a flashlight and shines it into the pipe. Because the interior is a perfect mirror, the light will reflect off the sides of the pipe, and you’ll see it. If your friend were to turn the flashlight on and off in a Morse code fashion, they could communicate with you through the pipe. However, making a cable out of a mirrored tube would be bulky and difficult. That’s why fiber-optic cable is made from pure glass, drawn into a very thin strand about the size of a human hair. These systems can transmit billions of bits of data per second. Visit panorafiber.com to learn about our fiber network and the speeds available with our fiber internet plans. Cornerstone Group © 2025 PANORA FIBER • PANORAFIBER.COM • 641 . 755 . 2424 IN PANORA • 641 . 332 . 2000 IN GUTHRIE CENTER Congratulations to IT Technician Zach Davis Zach Davis, IT Technician at Panora Fiber since 2016, recently earned the certification of Practical Junior Penetration Tester (PJPT). This certification focuses on giving beginners the skills and mindset to run a penetration test against a Windows Active Directory environment. A penetration test is where professionals are hired to ethically hack into a company’s network. The goal is to find weaknesses before real attackers do. Once they’re in, they document how they got there and give a detailed report to the IT team so they can fix the problems and strengthen their defenses. Zach said, “The PJPT exam gave me 48 hours to break into and compromise a simulated network, and then another 48 hours to write a professional report on my findings. To pass, you have to succeed at both.” All of us at Panora Fiber congratulate Zach on this achievement and recognize the hard work and persistence it took to get there. Thanks for all you bring to the table, Zach! Our fiber internet is 99.99% reliable. However, you may occasionally experience internet issues related to your power supply, connected devices, or router. Should this happen, start by following the troubleshooting steps below. 1) Check your power. Determine if you have power to the outlet for the fiber power supply and router. 2) Test a different website or online activity. The internet problem may be with the app, service, or website you’re trying to access. If only one website or service is acting up, your connection is probably fine. 3) Try a different device. Sometimes one device doesn’t want to connect, and another will. Can you stream on your TV, but your tablet won’t connect? Power cycle the non-working device — completely power it down and then back on. 4) Check your Ethernet cable. Make sure it’s fully plugged in. 5) Power cycle your wireless router. Unplug it from the power outlet, wait 15-30 seconds, then plug it back in. This often resolves the issue. If you have Managed Wi-Fi with an extender, make sure it’s plugged in. If these troubleshooting steps don’t resolve your internet problem, please contact Panora Fiber. Call our Panora office at 641.755.2424 or Guthrie Center office at 641.332.2000. You can call anytime, since we have 24/7 support! Your internet satisfaction is important to us, and we’ll help fix your issues when you let us know about them. There’s no need to contact friends and family in the area and ask if their internet is down. While this strategy may have made sense years ago—when older networks had shared connections that sometimes resulted in widespread internet outages—it isn’t the best course of action today. As a fiber internet customer of Panora Fiber, you have a direct fiber-optic connection to your home, which means your internet service is unique to you and not shared with other customers.
