and try to do things that make it more
welcoming and to enhance the quality of
life for our area. There are opportunities for
people to be happy living in rural America,
and a lot we can all do to make that happen.”
Another way he does so is by promoting
Marysville Municipal Airport. “My brother
and I have both been pilots for 44 years.
We rent planes to people that want to learn
how to fly or that need to fly, such as rural
doctors who need to reach patients in
remote locations. We also fly people to
or from hospitals including patients and
family members that want to be with them.”
The company does business with local
provider BVTC. Chad Hiltgen, Business
Consultant, says, “Landoll uses a variety
of services from BVTC including fiber
optics, upgraded Wi-Fi, and an ESI phone
system. The WAN and LAN networks they
have between their facilities help them to
be more efficient throughout their business.
The ESI phone system allows them to take
full advantage of the capabilities of VoIP
and operate seamlessly as though they were
all in one location.”
Landoll comments, “We now have four-digit
phone numbers so we can easily reach
coworkers at the other locations and initiate
conference calls. If we want to, we can also
see each other on a 90-inch screen and
display photos or drawings to illustrate
our ideas. We can easily communicate
with sales people in the field, making them
more efficient and effective with customers.”
A great benefit of working with BVTC has
been the responsive service. Landoll shares
an example: “We had a cable failure on a
weekend, and they were willing to come
in and work on it into the night to get it
fixed. They do what’s needed to get the
job done.”
THE RIGHT IP-BASED
PHONE SYSTEM
IMPROVES EFFICIENCY
IP-based, or VoIP, phone systems are commonly
used by large enterprises but can be just as
effective for small businesses. BVTC offers
multiple solutions including hosted systems
that take away the headache of having an
on-site phone system cabinet.
Consider the following questions to start
thinking about which type of IP-based phone
system might be the best fit for your business:
• How many phones will you require? Do
you plan to expand this number in the
next five years?
• Do you employ an IT staff?
• Do you prefer to have an on-site phone
system cabinet?
• Do you have remote offices or home-based
workers?
• What type of phone features would you
like to utilize?
Let BVTC assist you with the process of
selecting the right phone system to meet
your needs. Going through an analysis with
a BVTC expert can help get your business
running more efficiently and positively
impact your customers’ experience!
