Nemont’s 66th Annual Meeting was held on Saturday October 1, 2016
at the Nemont headquarters in Scobey, MT.
CEO Mike Kilgore delivered a message focused on the Annual Meeting theme,“Evolve.”
Nemont continues to evolve and invested $18M in its wireline and wireless infrastructure
in 2015. Upgrades included deploying a 4G LTE network in portions of the service area and
a fiber build-out in Hinsdale. Nemont launched the first Gigabit community in Montana
right here in Scobey,MT! The Scobey School systemwas our first Gigabit customer, giving
its students access to ultra-high-speed internet.
Nemont is proud to report that every school in our service territory is fed by fiber, allowing
our community educators access to the world at incredible speeds. Nemont continues to
uphold the cooperative principle,“Concern for Community”by supporting the communities
it serves through donations and sponsorships of local events and organizations. Nemont
contributes to local 4H clubs and supports the Babe Ruth World Series and Veterans Memorial
in Fort Peck,just to name a
few.Inclosing,Mr.Kilgore stated,“Nemont is buildingmore than a
network and will continue to evolve.”
This year’s election was uncontested. Roy D. Neufeld (District 2) and Ben Boreson (District
3) were each re-elected for another three-year term.
Throughout the meeting, 75 gifts were given away including an iPad mini.
Special guest Carissa Swenson, an educator and trainer from Consortia Consulting,
presented a great program and explained how people from every generation can use
technology to their benefit.
A special thank you goes out to Pastor Mike Hammerly for the invocation, the Opheim
American Legion Post 122 for the posting of the colors, the Scobey High School Jazz
ensemble for the National Anthem, and local businesswoman Barb Girard for delivering
the welcome speech.
