Business Solutions for Spring 2018

4 SPRING 2018 BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT How It All Started There are also locations of The Funky Zebras in the Iowa cit- ies of Altoona, Ames, Ankeny, Clive, and Pella. The franchise ended up with a Panora location after owner Karla Bristle attended a style show at the LPNConference Center presented by Cheryl Hayes, who created The Funky Zebras concept. Bristle recalls, “Cheryl Hayes had received many requests for The Funky Zebras to open in Panora. During that style show, she requested that anyone interested in opening the boutique in Panora come see her. I did just that and got the ball rolling. I then joined forces with the other owners, Lorrie Motsick and Dee Eckley, and The Funky Zebras Panora began its adventure!” Business has been off to a good start. “Our first sale was a $20 gift card, and we framed that $20 bill for display. Now that we have more than a year behind us, we’ve learned a lot about shop traffic patterns, clothing trends for this area, and special events our customers love,” says Bristle. Fun for Everyone The merchandise sold at The Funky Zebras Panora is care- fully selected to provide a broad variety of clothing in junior to missy sizes as well as accessories. Bristle explains, “We want styles that will appeal to our customers who come from many surrounding communities with different interests and lifestyles. We look for items that are unique, yet basic enough for anyone to be comfortable wearing them.” The Funky Zebras Panora Shopping is always fun at this unique boutique The Funky Zebras Panora opened on October 27, 2016 and customers of this boutique have been saying, “Wow!” ever since.
