Benjamin Franklin is quoted as saying, “Well done is better than well said.” His words remind us of the power of taking action with an intensity of effort, rather than merely talking about a goal. We don’t have to look far to find examples of “well done” in our local communities. They’re everywhere—from innovative businesses to tireless nonprofits to resourceful families. We celebrate excellent work in this issue of Business Solutions, beginning with the reminder that Small Businesses Have Big Impact, found on page 3. Where would we be without the many contributions made by small businesses in our communities? Pages 4 and 5 feature a Business Spotlight on the Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern and Southwest Missouri and Southern Illinois. It sets and upholds high standards for fair and honest business behavior, helping to create a marketplace where buyers and sellers trust each other. BBB Accreditation is a way for businesses to demonstrate a record of “well done” in terms of customer satisfaction activities, and if you haven’t yet applied for this distinction, we encourage you to do so.
