Business Connections by Adams

4 S U MM E R 2 0 2 0 Chris Wildrick went from the corporate world to the cannabis world, and her journey led to starting a venture about which she’s passionate—Herbal Remedies Dispensary. Wildrick is Chief Operating Officer of the business, which she owns with her partner, Bob Lansing. “My career background wasn’t in cannabis. It was in corporate human resources and compliance. Bob is a general contractor and entrepreneur, so we make a great talent combo,” said Wildrick. She added, “After Illinois legalized medical cannabis, a friend wondered if cannabis could help with a family member’s seizures caused by cerebral palsy. By educating ourselves through reading and watching videos, we learned about the before-and-after experiences of cannabis users. We saw how people are being helped by cannabis in ways that pharmaceuticals can’t. This is a plant that can truly make a difference to people. I developed a passion to get the truth about cannabis out there.” Range of Ages, Range of Products In 2015, Wildrick and Lansing opened Herbal Remedies Dispensary at 4440 Broadway Street in Quincy. Initially there were 16 registered medical patients; that number has grown to 1,200, ranging in age from 18 to 80+. In addition to providing cannabis products for these patients, Herbal Remedies Dispensary also sells to adult use consumers. The product menu includes activated cannabis oils, cartridges, concentrates, disposable vape pens, edibles, flowers, flower prerolls, tinctures, capsules, tablets, topicals, and transdermals. A sister company, Evergreen Wellness, opened in 2019 in a different suite of the same building at 4440 Broadway Street. Evergreen Wellness sells hemp/CBD products, which Illinois law doesn’t allow a medical cannabis dispensary such as Herbal Remedies Dispensary to sell.
