Each year, FRS awards scholarships to exceptional rural students, empowering them to strengthen their communities through education and skill-building. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships. To apply, students must be sponsored by an NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association member company, which includes WCVT. As your local telecommunications provider, we’re thrilled to offer this opportunity to students in our community. We encourage all eligible students to apply for this incredible opportunity to further their education and contribute to the growth of rural communities. APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 14, 2026. PRINTED ON RECYCLED PAPER CONNECT WITH US BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT Aegis Renewable Energy Headquartered in Waitsfield, Aegis Renewable Energy is a Vermont-based solar installer and trusted partner for commercial, design-build energy projects throughout New England. It provides a complete range of services for the development, installation, and sale of commercial solar and community-scale solar energy systems. Every solar panel installed by Aegis means that 50 lightbulbs can be turned on without dependence on fossil fuels. Every solar panel also means parents are actively working toward a future they can be proud to hand over to their children. To maximize efficiency, the Aegis team needs reliable phone communication, which is why they replaced an outdated system with Hosted IP Phone Service from WCVT. Vice President Sonia Behn said, “Our team often works in many different locations, whether that be in the office, out in the field servicing solar arrays, or at home. Hosted IP Phone Service allows us to stay connected from anywhere. It also allows our customers and partners to get in contact with our team through the use of the Max UC app.” Cornerstone Group © 2025 Giving Tree’s Holiday Cheer Made Possible by Tammy Field WCVT Employees Build Window Inserts for Valley Households In November, Team WCVT spent a rewarding day volunteering with WindowDressers, a nonprofit dedicated to helping Northern New England residents reduce heating costs and fossil fuel consumption. Our crew helped assemble insulated window inserts for local Valley households, making homes warmer and more energy-efficient for the winter season. These inserts are crafted from custom pine frames wrapped in two layers of tightly sealed, clear plastic film, functioning like interior storm windows. WindowDressers’ vision is simple yet powerful: Every community should have access to affordable insulated windows. WCVT was proud to be part of this year’s Valley Community Build and contribute to such an impactful initiative. To learn more, visit windowdressers.org. Bringing Smiles to Many Local Families Each holiday season, Waitsfield and Champlain Valley Telecom (WCVT) spreads joy throughout our service area with the company’s Annual Giving Tree. Coordinated by Tammy Field, Administrative Supervisor, this heartwarming program fulfills the wishes and needs of 400–500 children in our community. Tammy works closely with local schools and organizations to ensure every child’s needs are met. The gifts are generously donated by WCVT employees, customers, and the company’s Contributions Committee. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Tammy and everyone who helped make the 2025 Giving Tree a success! We have additional gratitude to express to Tammy this year, since she’s retiring from WCVT after years of dedicated service. Celebrating Tammy’s Retirement For the past 35.5 years, Tammy has been the heart behind many of WCVT’s most cherished community programs, including our Annual Giving Tree and Backpack Program. Her tireless efforts have brought joy to hundreds of children and families throughout our service area—and what an incredible impact she’s made! Tammy’s commitment, compassion, and endless energy have touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed by all of us at WCVT, and we wish her nothing but happiness and fulfillment in this next chapter of her life. Thank you, Tammy, for everything you’ve done for our community!
