Granted, we’re talking about a different kind of fiber here, but you get the point. You’ll find information about fiber and its impact on businesses throughout this Spring 2019 Business Connections . On page 3 we explain why Fiber is the Next Utility given its vital importance—akin to railroad tracks and highways in the previous century—to our lives and work today. When Rainbow Communications installed fiber at Shannon Industrial Park , it enabled more business development, as you’ll learn in the Business Spotlight on pages 4 and 5. A public-private partnership with the City of Atchison and Atchison County made this fiber project possible, and Rainbow Communications is pleased to now offer Internet speeds up to 1 Gig at the park. One of the businesses at Shannon Industrial Park which benefits from this faster Internet via fiber is Atchison Tubular Services. Its General Manager is Matt Geiger, and you can read about his deeply rooted ties to Atchison in Returning to Your Roots on page 7. In page 6’s Programs Help Bring Fiber to More Rural Areas , we talk about financial support from the federal government that helps fund broadband development in rural areas across the country. Fiber is frequently on our minds at Rainbow Communications, and we look forward to expanding our fiber footprint in the years to come. If you have questions about availability, please contact us.
