Business Connections for Fall 2018

FALL 2018 7 // Business Connections Mike Twombly grew up in Highland, and some of his favorite memories are of staying with grandparents. Twombly recalled, “My Grandpa Simmons would take me fishing, and then we’d go to Total to get candy while he had coffee with friends. On the Twombly side, it was always so exciting at harvest time. I sometimes got to ride in the combine, and I loved the sound of the grain bin dryers at night.” Twombly attended Seattle Film Institute and worked in the video production industry in the Seattle area before returning to Doniphan County. What led to his decision to move back? He replied, “I’d wanted to come back and be close to family for a while, so when Rainbow Communications offered me the job of launch- ing its local content channel, Rainbow NEK, I jumped at the chance. That led to my current job of running the subsidiary video produc- tion agency, Harvest Video. Seattle is a great city, but my wife and I don’t miss the traffic or the cost of living. We’re so glad our girls get to grow up in Wathena surrounded by extended family.” Harvest Video provides professional video services for practical budgets. It’s the only video production company in the Midwest equipped to provide complete video services from production to distribution. Project examples include company overview videos, testimonial videos, and product demo videos. “I’m proud of putting together such a great team of talented people at Harvest Video and watching the agency grow by helping other businesses tell their stories through video. I’m thoroughly enjoying my work. When I’m not working, I like to spend time with family, volunteer, and watch movies,” said Twombly. In this magazine, we periodically highlight people in our community whose career path brought them back to their roots. For this issue, we recognize Mike Twombly, Chief Operating Officer of Harvest Video. Returning to Your Roots Mike Twombly
