WebsiteCompass 13 match viewer demand, content quality and ratings. Just like other years, we will be asking for local choice provisions, where you only pay for what you want to watch. We hope broadcasters will work with us until negotiations are completed and won’t remove their channels as a negotiations tactic. Customers regularly ask what they or Alliance can do. Frankly, not much. Pay higher rates or lose the channels. That is it. We would love to paint a better picture, but that is not realistic based on historical trends, existing laws and industry practices. The only way to avoid paying retransmis- sion fees for local channels is to use an over-the-air antenna, stream websites like www.locast.org or vuit.com , or watch online where the fee is included or adver- tisements lessen the blow. We welcome our customers to join the conversation and learn more at www. TVOnMySide.com. We also encourage you to voice your concerns with your congres- sional members and local broadcasters. You can find their contact information at www.usa.gov/elected-officials. Ask them for fair rates, terms and conditions, and better over-the-air coverage. If congress hears from enough of you, maybe they will finally update the antiquated TV laws that enable greedy behavior from broadcasters.
