10 SUMMER 2019 2019 RTC Scholarship Winners Emma Condit is the daughter of Nathan and Christie Condit. She is a senior at Kenmare High School and has been active in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Future Farmers of America (FFA), Student Council, and the Kenmare Food Pantry. This fall, Emma plans to attend Minot State University and major in Business Management with a minor in Marketing. She hopes this education will provide the opportunity to continue her career with Gooseneck Implement. Jeneca Kostad is the daughter of Jan and Becky Kostad. She is a senior at Kenmare High School and has been active in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Student Council, Volleyball, Basketball and Golf. This fall, Jeneca plans to attend Arizona State University and major in Accountancy. She hopes to continue her education by obtaining her CPA license and return to Kenmare to join her father’s accounting firm. Dylan Rynestad is the son of Robbie and Stephanie Edwards and Travis and Shirly Rynestad. He is a senior at North Shore Plaza High School and has been active in Basketball and First Lutheran Church Bible School. He’s also served and delivered food for mul- tiple soup kitchens. This fall, Dylan plans to attend Bismarck State College and major in Cybersecurity and Computer Networks. He hopes to obtain employment to enhance the cybersecurity and internet protection of a reputable company. Lindsay Peterson is the daughter of Kelly and Peni Peterson. She is a senior at Watford City High School and has been active in Cross Country, Basketball, Track, Student Council, Watford City Chamber of Commerce and as a Sunday School Teacher at First Lutheran. This fall, Lindsay plans to attend Dickinson State Uni- versity and major in Elementary Education. She’s always known she wanted to teach and hopes to return to the area to teach and coach at an elementary school. RTC Sponsors Kolton Brugh for FRS Youth Tour Kolton Brugh, a junior at North Shore Plaza High School, is attend- ing the 2019 Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Annual Youth Tour, June 1-5. Each year, in collaboration with National Telecom- munications Cooperative Association member companies, FRS brings rural students from across the United States toWashington, D.C. for a four-day tour. While in Washington, Kolton will learn about the telecommunications industry, as well as the regulatory and legislative processes. He will visit the U.S. Capitol and U.S. Department of Agriculture and meet with industry leaders and members of Congress. Attendees will be given ample time to explore the nation’s capital and its many attractions such as the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials; the Korean, Vietnam and newWorldWar II Memorials; Mount Vernon, home of George Washington; the Smithsonian Museums; and much more. This year, RTC accepted applications along with essays fromhigh school juniors in our service area. Kolton was selected to represent RTC and attend the expenses- paid FRS Youth Tour.
