Enhanced Healthcare Capabilities Daniel Kelly, Chief Executive Officer, remarked, “With the opening of our new facility, many of the space and technologi- cal limitations we had before have been removed. Our focus now is on recruiting physicians and staff. We will continue to expand healthcare offerings as our population grows and we are able to recruit additional personnel.” The larger space of the new hospital’s emergency room has already proven to be valuable. When a tornado went through Watford City in July 2018 and hit a camper park, the emergency bay’s nine beds were quickly filled with injured patients. It was a successful test of the expanded emergency room’s capabilities. This summer, McKenzie County Healthcare Systems, Inc. moved to its new state-of-the-art medical facility in Watford City. The $76.3 million facility features a new hospital and clinic, as well as updates to the con- nected Good Shepherd Home and nearby Horizon Assisted Living.
