Controlled environment of the Evidence Room

– This space

is held at a negative pressure with its own ventilation system,

protecting those in the office from being exposed to harmful

materials as well as protecting the evidence itself.

Designated room for video conferencing court appearances

By using this equipment, it saves significant time, money, and

resources.

Multiple training and meeting rooms

– Officers from different

agencies and departments can comfortably come together to

share their knowledge and communicate with each other.

To help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of communica-

tion, RTC provides the McKenzie County Law Enforcement

Center with a full-featured phone system, multiple fax lines, an

Ethernet circuit for high-speed internet connections, and two

types of TV services. Shane Hart, CEO/General Manager of

RTC, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony and says, “RTC is

honored to be the communications provider for this wonderful

new facility. It makes a valuable addition to McKenzie County

in terms of public safety and agency collaboration.”

The phone system was first installed in the McKenzie County

Court House, and when the new McKenzie County Law

Enforcement Center was completed, RTC connected the two

locations together on the same system. This enables the staff

to seamlessly transfer calls from one office or department to

another, unifying call management.

At the Correctional Facility, the phone system helps reduce

the need to move inmates around for visitation and includes

attorney phone lines. In the future, remote visitation may be

available. Ken Rooks, Corrections Administrator, notes, “I also

value the phone system’s All Call function, which can help us

alert staff to security situations. In addition, Auto Transfer of

calls from the business office to our control room enhances our

ability to provide excellent service.”

Gary Schwartzenberger, McKenzie County Sheriff, says, “There

are several big advantages to having the new phone system from

RTC in the McKenzie County Law Enforcement Center. We

can easily transfer calls to any office or group in the entire build-

ing by simply using the four-digit extension. We’re also able to

continue doing transfers with the existing extensions at the

courthouse, despite the move across town. It’s great being on

one system. RTC has made it very user-friendly, fast, and conve-

nient to manage the many calls coming in daily to multiple law

enforcement agencies, all under one roof.”

Schwartzenberger also values the customer service provided by

RTC. He adds, “I really appreciate the friendliness and respon-

siveness of the RTC staff. They’re readily available to deal with

any issues or concerns that come up and have been professional,

helpful, and knowledgeable. RTC has trained the staff on the

new phone system when needed, and they’ve come into the

building so many times to assist us. We can’t thank them enough

for everything they’ve done and continue to do for us here at the

McKenzie County Law Enforcement Center. RTC has contrib-

uted greatly to the successful completion of the new facility and

helped the agencies here continue to serve and protect during the

transition process.”
